WHO WE SEE · CHILDREN & FAMILIES
Kids Chiropractic
Children's bodies and nervous systems are in a constant state of growth, change, and adaptation. Gentle Chiropractic care supports that process, from newborns through to teenagers, without force, or anything that causes discomfort.
Why parents bring their children in
Every family arrives with a different story. Some parents come in because they've noticed something, a head turning preference in their newborn, a stiffness that's been there since birth, posture that's changed since their child started school, or a teenager whose neck and shoulders have tightened up under the weight of study and screen time.
Others come because they want ongoing support for a child who is growing well and they'd like to keep it that way. Both are completely valid reasons to be here.
Dr Euan has been caring for children, from newborns to teenagers, for over 25 years. His calm manner and precise, age-appropriate approach help young people feel safe and at ease from the moment they arrive.
Newborns & infants
Birth, whether straightforward or complex, places real demands on a baby's spine and nervous system. The forces involved in labour, delivery, and the transition to life outside the womb can leave some newborns with tension patterns that show up in subtle ways: a preference for turning the head one direction, difficulty settling, stiffness when being dressed or changed, or an overall sense of bracing or asymmetry in the body.
These patterns are not always obvious, and many resolve on their own. But for babies where they persist, gentle care can help the nervous system soften and reorganise. The contacts used with infants are extremely light, often described as no more than the pressure of a fingertip, and sessions are brief, calm, and always done at the baby's pace.
Many parents bring their newborns in shortly after birth as part of a supported start, particularly when there has been a long labour, intervention at delivery, or simply because they want to give their baby the best foundation they can.
Parents are often surprised by how gentle the care is. What they notice in the hours and days that follow, a baby who settles more easily, a child more comfortable in their own body, tends to surprise them less.
Toddlers & school-age children
As children learn to walk, run, climb, fall, and sit at desks for hours, their nervous systems are constantly recalibrating. Growth is rapid, coordination is developing, and the demands on the spine change significantly through these years.
Parents sometimes notice changes in posture, sleep, concentration, or behaviour that they sense are connected to physical tension but aren't sure how to address. Chiropractic care at this stage focuses on supporting the nervous system's ability to organise and release tension, so children can move, rest, and learn with more ease.
Sessions for young children are gentle, playful where appropriate, and always tailored to the child's temperament and comfort. Nothing is done without the child's willingness, and parents are always present and involved.
Teenagers
The teenage years bring rapid physical growth alongside significant neurological and hormonal change. Add the postural demands of hours on devices, heavy school bags, competitive sport, and the stress of exams and social life, and it's not surprising that many teenagers carry more tension in their spines and nervous systems than they realise.
Teenagers often respond well to care because their nervous systems are still highly adaptable. Many come in for neck and shoulder tension or postural strain, and notice that the effects extend beyond the physical, better sleep, improved focus, a greater sense of calm under pressure.
Care for teenagers is the same in approach as adult care, gentle, precise, and responsive to what the body is showing. The conversation at the start of each visit is important, and Dr Euan takes the time to listen to what the young person themselves is experiencing, not just the parent's observations.
What a session looks like
A child's first visit begins with a thorough conversations, with the parent and, depending on age, with the child directly. Dr Euan will ask about your child's history, development, birth experience, and what's prompted you to come in. This shapes the assessment and the care that follows.
The assessment itself is gentle and observational, looking at posture, movement, and how the nervous system is organising tension. For very young children and babies, this often happens while the child is in a parent's arms or sitting on a parent's lap.
Hands-on care uses light, specific contacts along the spine, adapted to the child's size, age, and stage of development. There is no manipulation, no cracking, and nothing forceful at any point. Most children find it unremarkable in the best possible way, calm, gentle, and over quickly.

A note on families
WellWellWell Sydney is a family practice in the truest sense. Many of the children who come in are the children or grandchildren of patients, brought in because a parent has experienced the care themselves and wants that for their family.
Dr Euan also sees mothers during pregnancy and postpartum, so for many families there is continuity of care through some of the most significant physical transitions of their lives. If you're currently receiving care during pregnancy and would like to bring your newborn in after birth, that's very much welcomed.
Common questions
Is Chiropractic care safe for babies and young children?
Yes. The care used at WellWellWell Sydney for children is gentle and age-appropriate. The pressure used with infants is extremely light, no more than a fingertip. Dr Euan has over 25 years of experience caring for children from newborns upwards.
Will it hurt?
No. Most children find the care unremarkable or pleasant. Babies often settle or fall asleep during sessions. Older children typically describe it as relaxing. If a child is uncomfortable at any point, the session adjusts accordingly.
What ages do you see?
From newborns through to teenagers. The approach is always adapted to the child's age, size, developmental stage, and temperament.
Do I need a referral?
No referral is required. You're welcome to book directly. If your child is under the care of a paediatrician or other health professional and you'd like Dr Euan to liaise with them, that can be arranged.
Can I stay with my child during the session?
Yes, always. Parents are present throughout every visit, and for young children and babies, sessions often happen while the child is in the parent's arms.
Does private health cover children's Chiropractic?
Private health extras may cover Chiropractic care for children depending on your level of cover. Check with your insurer.
