Pregnancy Chiropractic
Pregnancy asks a great deal of the body. Gentle, nervous-system-focused Chiropractic care can support you through each stage, from the early weeks through to birth and beyond.
A body in constant change
From the first trimester onwards, your body is adapting at a pace it rarely experiences at any other time. Hormonal shifts loosen ligaments and joints. The pelvis widens and tilts. The centre of gravity moves forward. Posture compensates. Breathing patterns shift to make room for a growing baby.
These are natural processes, but they place real demands on the spine, pelvis, and nervous system. For many women, the result is discomfort, tension, or a sense of being physically braced that builds gradually through the months.
The care available at WellWellWell Sydney isn't designed to interfere with these changes. It's designed to help your body move through them with more ease.
What women commonly experience
Every pregnancy is different, but some patterns come up regularly. Low back pain and pelvic discomfort are among the most common, often starting mid-pregnancy as the pelvis begins to shift and the load on the lower spine increases. Hip tightness, instability through the sacroiliac joints, and mid-back or rib discomfort are also frequent, particularly as posture adapts around a changing centre of gravity.
Beyond the physical, many women notice that stress, anxiety, and the heightened sensitivity of the nervous system during pregnancy can amplify how tension is felt in the body. Fatigue, disrupted sleep, and the emotional weight of preparing for birth all have a physical dimension that can settle into the spine and shoulders.
Some women come in with a specific concern. Others simply want support in feeling more grounded and comfortable in a body that's changing faster than they can keep up with.
Pregnancy isn't something to be corrected. It's something the body needs support to move through, with as much ease and adaptability as possible.
The approach here
Network Spinal is the primary method used at WellWellWell Sydney, and it is particularly well suited to pregnancy. It uses light, precise contacts along the spine, no manipulation, no cracking, no force. The contacts work with the nervous system's own signals to invite the release of stored tension patterns. Many pregnant women find it deeply calming, especially in the second and third trimesters when the body is under the greatest load.
Gentle manual chiropractic adjusting is also available where appropriate and where it is your preference. Any hands-on work during pregnancy is always adapted to your stage, your comfort, and your wishes. Positioning during sessions is modified as needed, including side-lying where that's more comfortable.
The goal is not to push the body into a particular shape. It is to support the nervous system in doing what it is already trying to do, adapt, regulate, and carry you and your baby through this process as comfortably as possible.
About gentle Chiropractic and manual adjusting
The nervous system in pregnancy
Pregnancy involves profound neurological change, not just physical change. The nervous system becomes more sensitised, more attuned to the internal environment of the body and more responsive to stress, posture, and physical load. This heightened sensitivity is purposeful, but it also means that tension patterns which might go unnoticed at other times can feel amplified.
Network Spinal care looks at how efficiently the nervous system can respond, unwind, and adapt. Supporting better nervous system regulation during pregnancy can influence how physical discomfort is experienced, how stress is managed, and how the body prepares for labour and birth.
Understanding your nervous system
Postpartum care
Many women choose to continue care after birth, and this phase is just as important as pregnancy itself. The postpartum body is recovering from significant physical exertion while simultaneously taking on new demands, feeding, lifting, carrying, and sleeping in ways and positions it hasn't encountered before.
Postpartum care at WellWellWell Sydney focuses on pelvic and spinal recovery, the postural strain of early parenting, and nervous system resilience at a time when sleep deprivation and the emotional intensity of new parenthood are at their peak. Care can begin as soon as you feel ready, some women return within the first few weeks, others later in their recovery.
We also see newborns and young children. If you'd like to bring your baby in after birth, that's very much welcome.

Common questions
Is Chiropractic care safe during pregnancy?
Yes. The gentle, non-force approach used at WellWellWell Sydney is appropriate throughout all trimesters. There is no forceful cracking, twisting, or painful anything. All care is adapted to your stage of pregnancy and your comfort.
When in pregnancy can I start?
Care is suitable from early pregnancy through to the final weeks before birth. Many women find the middle and later trimesters particularly beneficial, though some begin in the first trimester for nervous system support and general wellbeing.
What does a session feel like?
Most women describe the care as surprisingly gentle and calming. The contacts along the spine are light and precise, not the kind of treatment that involves pushing, cracking, or sudden movements. Positioning is adapted throughout pregnancy, including side-lying where that is more comfortable.
Do I need a referral from my midwife or obstetrician?
No referral is required. You're welcome to come in directly. If you have a specific concern your care team has flagged, please mention it when you arrive and Dr Euan will take that into account.
How soon after birth can I return?
As soon as you feel comfortable. Some women return within the first couple of weeks, others later. There's no set timeline, it depends on your birth experience, your recovery, and what you're hoping for.
Does private health cover pregnancy Chiropractic?
Private health extras may cover chiropractic care depending on your level of cover. Check with your insurer. No Medicare rebate applies to Chiropractic care.
